An eco dock is a dock that is designed to be environmentally friendly, and can be made from materials that are recyclable or have minimal impact on the environment. Oyster cages are managed at this eco dock.
This place is vulnerable to climate change because as water temperatures increase, less oxygen will be available for our oysters in the eco dock. Also, because of rising sea levels and increased extreme weather events, the eco dock could be destroyed.
In addition, due to human impact on the environment, the New York City Combined Sewage Overflow system, the little bit of causes decreased marine and aquatic ecosystem health. The Aquaculture program is directly involved in this research community to make and create solutions.
