Our vision places the Mallaig Community Hub at the heart of the community; providing a much-needed space that both fosters community spirit and reflects and responds to the needs of the people of Mallaig, providing long-lasting social and environmental benefits to the community as a whole.
By transforming an unused building into a multi-use retail, activity, and enterprise space, we aim to create a hub that addresses the multiple layers of social deprivation in the area, providing a location to build connections and skills.
In our Zero waste shop we will be selling sustainable and local products, we will purchase more gravity dispensers for sundries which we will encourage the community to reuse containers to fill up and we will educate on single use plastics and how we can all make steps towards being more environmentally friendly. We will work with a local supplier of eco and refillable cleaning products as well as shampoos and conditioner and offer these in the shop as well.
