The SCDT was created to advance community development and rural regeneration. It also aims to advance citizenship and education and conservation of the natural environment.
SCDT were involved in the “Climate Challenge” and the Climate Pledge to reduce the carbon footprint within the village.
We currently have two main aims: 1. To develop a sustainable community shop supported by volunteers and run on a not-for-profit basis, including climate education and sales of local produce. 2. To support the development of a local community space which can be enjoyed by all ages and will enhance the local environment.
We cover Strathpeffer and district (catchment area for the Strathpeffer Primary School).
