The Acharacle Community Company was formed to benefit the community of Acharacle and surrounding area.
Our key objectives are: to manage community land and associated assets for the benefit of the Community and to promote rural regeneration in areas of social and economic deprivation within the Community.
Sustainability and our commitment to the climate are clear in the projects we undertake, for example: our new Community Centre has been fitted with a renewable heating and hot water system, powered by solar panels, we have e-bikes available to encourage members to take up cycling, we support recycling schemes, organise local produce markets and run a Re-use project, diverting waste from landfill. We're also working together with other organisations, e.g. enabling Urram to install an EV charger for their new electric hospital transport cars.
